The Salesforce Certified Administrator exam is organised into eight domains. This is a plain-English summary with the official Salesforce weightings from the December 2025 version; the official Salesforce exam guide is authoritative. Older seven-domain material with no Agentforce domain is out of date.

1 - Configuration and Setup
Company-wide settings (fiscal year, business hours, currencies), user management, and the security model: profiles and permission sets for object and field access, plus organisation-wide defaults, the role hierarchy and sharing rules for record access.
2 - Object Manager and Lightning App Builder
Standard and custom objects, fields and relationships, record types and page layouts, and building app and record pages with the Lightning App Builder.
3 - Sales and Marketing Applications
Leads and the conversion flow, opportunities and the sales process, products and price books, forecasting basics, and campaigns.
4 - Service and Support Applications
Cases and the case lifecycle, queues, assignment, escalation and auto-response rules, Knowledge, and support productivity tools.
5 - Productivity and Collaboration
Activities, tasks and events, the Salesforce mobile app, Chatter, email integration, and templates that help end users work.
6 - Data and Analytics Management
Importing, exporting, updating and de-duplicating data (Data Import Wizard versus Data Loader, plus duplicate and matching rules), data quality and backups, and reports, report types and dashboards. This is the largest domain.
7 - Automation
Declarative automation with Flow Builder (record-triggered, screen and scheduled flows), validation rules and approval processes, and choosing the right tool for a requirement. Workflow Rules and Process Builder are being retired.
8 - Agentforce
The newest domain, added in December 2025. Agentforce and Einstein AI concepts for administrators: setting up AI assistance, and the trust, data-access and guardrail considerations that come with it.
